Custom Cornhole with a little artistic
FLARE!

Thanks for visiting Burner Board Cornhole, the site that offers a unique twist on the traditional cornhole game.  First, a set is specifically designed for the customer.  Then, the text and images are actually burned into the playing surface. These custom sets are created with durability and strength in mind so, not only do they look good, they PLAY good!  Every set is built to order, one set at a time, in exactly the same fashion to ensure consistency and quality. I only use the highest quality materials, like 3/4" cabinet grade sanded plywood (birch or blondewood) for the tops.  I'm compelled to use these two kinds of plywood for two main reasons.  First, there's not a big contrast in woodgrain in sanded birch and blondewood.  This creates a cleaner, flatter surface on which to burn.  Second, the 3/4" plywood helps to eliminate  'bounce' during gameplay.   Poplar or select pine boards are used to build the frames and legs.  All surfaces and edges are sanded and routered for extra appeal.  The legs fold under for easy storage.  They are assembled using all-weather wood glue and screwed together with coarse-thread screws for added durability. They are then stained to the customer's satisfaction and coated with four layers of polyurethane for a classic finish and superior playability.

I began building boards about six years ago.  I built my own set, then began filling "orders" for friends and family members.  In December of 2007, I built a set for my in-laws for Christmas. I stained the set golden oak and then used a darker stain for the trim and graphics.  It was then that the idea hit me.  It looked like the images were burned into the wood!  I immediately  purchased a woodburning pen from the local craft store and, "Voila!", the genesis of Burner Boards.   I posted pictures of my work on a cornhole forum and received a lot of positive feedback.  Since then, I have upgraded to a professional wood burning kit and have completed many unique sets,  streamlining my technique and process along the way.  Take a few minutes to browse the rest of the site and you'll quickly see the difference between Burner Boards and the competition.
